December to March is the green season. April and May turn the hills from green to yellow, and June to November is the yellow season.
Fly into Tambolaka Airport (TMC) and out of Waingapu Airport (WGP). Trips start at 12.00 WITA, so arrive the day before or on a flight landing before noon. They finish at 11.00 WITA.
Open trips suit participants aged 10–50 who are fit and healthy: the route includes trekking on slippery, steep paths to waterfalls. Outside that age range, choose a private trip.
