Getting To Sumba
Fly into Tambolaka Airport (TMC) and out of Waingapu Airport (WGP). Trips start at 12.00 WITA, so arrive the day before or on a flight landing before noon. They finish at 11.00 WITA.
Who It's For
Open trips suit participants aged 10–50 who are fit and healthy: the route includes trekking on slippery, steep paths to waterfalls. Outside that age range, choose a private trip.

Planning Your Trip
How is the trekking route?
The trails range from moderate to strenuous. Prepare physically before the trip, don't overexert yourself, and wear trekking sandals so you don't slip.
Is the price nett?
Yes. Flight tickets and personal expenses are not included.
Do I buy my own flights?
Yes, participants buy their own round-trip tickets. Flying home the day after the trip is advised, because the itinerary cannot be adjusted to flight times.
Why do I need to bring a hard disk?
The drone and mirrorless documentation is copied in full and usually runs over 32 GB, which is too slow on a flash drive. Files are copied on day three.
How do I book and pay?
Pay a deposit of at least 50%, then the balance no later than 14 days before departure. Booking within 14 days of the trip means paying in full. Confirm on WhatsApp with your transfer receipt, the names and ages of all participants, a contact number, the number of participants, and your pick-up and drop-off locations.
What happens if I cancel?
The deposit is non-refundable and cannot be moved to another trip or date, but you can pass your place to someone else. Changes or cancellations caused by force majeure are not refunded, and arriving late at the meeting point counts as withdrawing.
Can the itinerary change?
Yes, depending on conditions at the destination and force majeure. Safety comes first, so bad weather changes the plan. Participants follow the tour leader's direction throughout the trip.
What should I bring?
Sunblock (SPF 30–50), sunglasses, a hat, snacks and supplements, a drybag or backpack, spare clothes, trekking sandals or shoes, a power bank, personal medicines and wet tissue. Telkomsel has the best signal on Sumba.
